 Bruno Taut was a German expressionist architect influential in generating an increase in traditional?Japanese architecture. He extolled the functionalism and rationalism? of what he called “emperor art", as represented by the Ise Shrine and Katsura Detached Palace.? The room, Zuiunkaku in Darumaji is devoted solely to his memorabilia. It includes photographs, copies of his works, some personal effects and objects he made during his stay here, as well as his death mask.
